If Things Were Different, We Would Do Otherwise – Conference Proceedings, UQO Gallery (December 2024)

In December 2024, I co-directed, with Carmelle Adam, the publication of the proceedings “Si les choses étaient différentes, nous ferions autrement” (If Things Were Different, We Would Do Otherwise), a project carried out in collaboration with the UQO Gallery. This publication assembles critical reflections and analyses focusing on artistic and curatorial practices in the context of uncertainty and social transformation.

A Publication at the Intersection of Art and Research

This publication explores how artists, curators, and researchers reinvent their practices in response to contemporary challenges. Among the themes addressed are:

  • Artistic responses to social and environmental crises.
  • The evolution of exhibition formats and mediation.
  • The role of uncertainty and adaptation in contemporary creation.
  • Collaborative and experimental art practices.

My Role as Co-Director of the Publication

In this editorial project, I participated in:

  • Coordinating and structuring contributions.
  • Reviewing and editing texts.
  • Developing the theoretical and critical framework.
  • Promoting the publication within academic and artistic communities.

Impact and Perspectives

This project highlights the current challenges of artistic and curatorial practices while offering reflections on rethinking exhibition and cultural mediation modes. It demonstrates the richness of interdisciplinary exchanges and the ability of artists and researchers to adapt to societal transformations.
